What is Pre-Sure?

Pre-Sure creates a copy of your internal organs that actually cut, bleed, and can be operated on. This lets your surgeon and their team practice your surgery, just like an orchestra practicing a piece of music before a big performance.  

How is the replica of my anatomy made? 

Pre-Sure is a technology platform that uses 3D printing to create a model of your body. Unlike most 3D printers which use plastic, we utilize advanced 3D printing, image analysis and material science technology to create detailed models, derived from your medical scans. 

Is the replica an exact match to my anatomy? 

Pre-Sure replicas are so accurate that they are supposed to be used by your Surgeon and medical team to make decisions about how to best care for you. This is called "Diagnostic Use" and Pre-Sure has received clearance from the FDA for diagnostic use. With good scan data, Pre-Sure replicas are accurate to within about 1mm, or ~0.04 inches. That's about the thickness of a sewing needle. In some cases, the medical scan data isn't that accurate, and in those cases the models are only as accurate as the data that is received. While every effort is made to ensure its precision, larger variations can occur - especially if your body has changed between when the scan is taken and when the surgery is performed.

How can Pre-Sure help? 

By rehearsing your surgery, your surgeon can better understand your unique body and medical condition. Scientific studies have shown that 3D models can reduce surgical time and help your doctor decide how to treat you. 

Will my personal and medical information be kept confidential? 

Absolutely. Your privacy and the confidentiality of your medical data are of utmost importance to us. We adhere to strict data privacy regulations and ensure that all information is securely handled.. 

Does every hospital or surgeon use the Pre-Sure product? 

Not every hospital or surgeon currently uses Pre-Sure. However, we're working diligently to make it available to as many medical professionals as possible because we believe in its potential to enhance surgical outcomes. 

Will using Pre-Sure add to the cost of my surgery? 

It depends on your insurance, your surgery, and your hospital. Ask your doctor to learn more.

How much time does it take to create the replica once my scans are provided? 

Pre-Sure digital models are typically available within 48 hours of us receiving your data, and the physical replicas are typically available within 1 week of order placement.

Are there any risks or side effects associated with the use of Pre-Sure? 

Pre-Sure is low risk because the replicas are not directly used on you. You may never even touch them or see them. Instead, it is a tool to help your doctor prepare for your surgery.

How do I know if my surgery is a candidate for using Pre-Sure? 

Many types of surgeries can benefit from Pre-Sure rehearsals. Consult with your surgeon or healthcare provider to discuss its applicability and potential benefits for your specific procedure. Pre-Sure is FDA cleared for genitourinary, cardiovascular, neurological, respiratory, musculoskeletal, gastrointestinal, craniofacial, and pediatric applications. This includes many of the most common surgeries performed in the US. Ask your doctor to learn if your surgery is a candidate!
